Jan 25, 2024 - In collaboration with Western Michigan University (Lead) and Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL), a new 3-year project was awarded recently by DOE Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO). In this project, we will develop integrated charger-inverter (ICI) technologies that enable existing electric vehicle (EV) inverters to serve as a bi-directional charger, while optimizing the overall system for high efficiency, high power density, and low cost, eliminating the need for on-board or off-board chargers. John Deere Corporation and BorgWarner Inc. serve as the industry advisory partners on this project.
